MEMPHIS, Tenn. –  The National Cotton Council (NCC) greatly appreciates the Trump Administration for its strong support of the bipartisan Buying American Cotton Act (BACA).

“We applaud President Trump and the Administration for recognizing the importance of BACA and the role it can play in strengthening demand for U.S. cotton,” said NCC Chairman Nathan Reed. “This landmark legislation supports our farmers, encourages new investment in U.S. textile manufacturing, and enhances the resilience of our supply chains.”

By leveraging the value and traceability of U.S. cotton, BACA would help strengthen demand for U.S. cotton, expand domestic production, support U.S. textile manufacturing, create new jobs and boost local economies across the American cotton industry.

NCC looks forward to working with the Administration, Congress and co-sponsors to advance this important legislation for America’s cotton industry.

This grassroot effort is organized by the National Cotton Council of America (NCC), the central organization representing all sectors of the U.S. cotton industry

NCC works to strengthen the competitiveness of U.S.-grown cotton at home and abroad while advancing policies that support producers, manufacturers, and the broader cotton supply chain.

Representing the seven segments of the industry, NCC brings together stakeholders from across the cotton supply chain to speak with a unified voice on issues affecting American cotton. NCC also maintains a strong presence in Washington, D.C., engaging on priorities including farm policy, trade, market access, sustainability, and regulatory issues.

A Coalition Working Toward a Common Goal

Support for BACA extends beyond the cotton industry. The effort includes agricultural organizations, manufacturers, retailers, brands, and other partners who recognize the value of a stronger, more transparent cotton supply chain.
